I just finished project 2, creating paper envelopes. It was a great easy project to do. It took me a total of 30 min. with a cost of $3.00. I used the templates downloaded from marthastewart.com. They look great and could be used for many occasions. Here are pictures!

I decided to fold 100 box shades for a string of lights for the first project. The paper used was cream colored cardstock that could still pass light through it. I also decided to put them on a strand of multi colored lights so there was some color to them. The total amount of time put into this project was 6 hours. The total cost was 2.99 for the string of lights, the paper was donated. I am now moving on to making envelopes and shopping bags. Those shouldn't take me too long. Hope you like the pictures. I am working on getting better pictures with my camera but I can't download them. These pictures are from my cell phone.
I am starting out with the paper folding projects. These include folding a crane, boxes over lights, storage boxes, creating mini shopping bags, custom envelopes and more! As I finish I will post pictures up!

So my friend bought these Dove chocolates with Martha Stewart inspirational sayings. There are some great tips on how to organize and thrifty ideas for crafts. I thought I would give you a sample of them
"Present candles in a dish lined with shredded paper"
"Give your favorite cookie recipe, along with a fresh batch"
"Wrap holiday gifts immediately after you purchase them"
"Decorate with doilies-natural stand-ins for snowflakes"
"Display seasonal fruit for an unexpected holiday centerpiece"
"Fill stockings with gifts inspired by a single theme"
"Layer white tissue paper over bright colored wrap"
"Turn old toys into nostalgic tree ornaments"
"Send thank-yous within two weeks of receiving a gift"
"Assign serving platters to each dish on the buffet table"
Great tips and ideas for the holidays and for everyday life. I just thought I would share with you some inspiring words of Martha!
***Project update*** I am still in the process of acquiring all the materials needed to complete this and I will officially start this thursday with the first project. I will announce what I will be doing on Thursday as well.
P.S. I love the fact Martha had a pole exercise routine on her show. I think it took her guts to do that and I give her big props for doing so!! Goooooo Martha!!!
Martha Stewart has always been a part of my life. I remember being about 6 and being at my grandmas house and the first thing I would want to watch was Martha Stewart Living on PBS. Her crafts and the how-to lessons were always the best. I dreamed of making her recipes and crafts all the time. In fact when I was young and making crafts I would always ask "How would Martha do this?" I was that obsessed and still am. I have a dream of one day meeting Martha Stewart. She has been a huge idol to me. So I am taking it upon myself to complete every project in her book Martha Stewarts Encyclopedia of Crafts in hopes this will gain attention and I will get that opportunity. I am a novice crafter and have very little supplies, hardly any artistic ability and no sewing machine. This is going to be one huge undertaking.
Now I know that this has been done and there are many other blogs like this out there but I haven't seen one done for a craft book. So hopefully this will be an interesting and fun experience. I have to get supplies together before I begin and since I am a full time student and work part time it will probably be a week before I post the first completed craft but I cant wait to share it with you!!
